Thanks for your comments and suppor...MAJ Marbella,

Thanks for your comments and support. It is an honor to be here and tell the story of the AFP and local governments working on behalf of the Filipino people. And the capture of the ASG militants is a huge success story to the Marines in Sulu.

I am also honored to highlight the fine work of U.S. Army Civil Affairs, it is our distinct pleasure to showcase such great teams.

Take care,

LTJG Theresa Donnelly
Deputy Public Affairs OfficerJSOTF-P Public Affairshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15347227616426707405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2719003037070145611.post-45028746903574164562010-02-22T11:41:01.490+08:002010-02-22T11:41:01.490+08:00LTC Lobb & Theresa,
I’ve been following all y...LTC Lobb & Theresa,

I’ve been following all your JSOTF-P articles -- outstanding PAO work in every manner. I’m glad that the Joint Command Information Management Joint Test (JCIM-JT) is proceeding as scheduled and now transitioned to the Joint Test and Evaluation (JT&E). It’s come a long way since the 2008 concept development meeting we had in FT Bragg, NC. There is a significant interest in this endeavor with everyone I encounter here in CGSC (Ft Leavenworth, Kansas). The benefits of standardizing civil information collection, consolidation and sharing across DOD, inter-agency organizations, international groups, and Non-Government Organizations (NGO) will be phenomenal. I’m curious to the amount of involvement the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and USAID has had in the JT&E as mentioned in the article. Nevertheless, the thought of soliciting the AFP’s input will only further strengthen our inter-governmental cooperation. I certainly look forward to the JT&E reports.

On another significant note, my sincere compliments to the leadership of TF Comet, TF Sulu, and JSOTF-P’s recent operational success in ending Albader Parad reign of terror in Sulu. This ASG leader was notorious for the kidnapping of the three Red Cross workers and the deaths of two of our US Army brethren. The Southern Philippines is a better place without this terrorist. Hopefully the end of ASG is coming closer as we continue to erode populace support and denial of both geographic and intellectual safe havens.

Lastly, below is the link to Philippine Star Magazine article, “Winning the Other War” written this Sunday by MS Joy Cruz. It highlights C/97th CMO successes and the award ceremony held in Fort Bragg. It’s certainly rewarding to be recognized by our host nation and that the military cooperation between the countries extends beyond Philippines’ borders. This chain of positive news stories and events were all ignited by your article dated 28 NOV 2009 – “JSOTF-P Civil Affairs Company Earn AFP Medals.” Thanks for continuing to write the JSOTF-P Civil Affairs story and letting the world know. Best regards to all.

http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=551429&publicationSubCategoryId=90
V/R
Major Matt Marbella (USA)
Student, Command and General Staff College
FT Leavenworth, Kansas

The views expressed in this blog are those of the author and do not reflect the official policy or position of the Department of the Army, Department of Defense, or the US Government.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
